Honiton ladies met to contest their monthly medal, writes Ann Desmoulins.

It was played in conjunction with the first round of the winter eclectic, which has to be a full 18 holes. For those not familiar with the eclectic format, it is stroke play with a maximum of 20 cards submitted over the winter season.

The best score for each hole over the all the cards submitted is counted and the player with the lowest score wins the competition.

The course was difficult to play and the uncooperative weather certainly did not help the 27 players that took part, particularly those at the back of the field who got a drenching!

However, play was completed and the Silver Division was decided on countback with the winner being Elizabeth Ward with nett 79, edging Sue Kelson into second and third was Olwen Eaton.

In Bronze One the winner was Jane Watts with nett 77 and second was Stephani Barnes nett 78.

Bronze Two was won by Cathy Pawley with nett 78 with second place going to Linda Curtis, nett 80.

Six ladies entered the nine-hole stableford which was won by Sarah Dawe, fresh back from sunnier climes (as indicated by her sun-tan!), with a very good 20 points.
