Honiton senior success for David Morris

Due to work on the course, the week’s seniors’ medal meeting was cancelled and replaced by a 14-hole Stableford competition, writes Ann Desmoulins.

The winner of Division One was Nigel Broadbent with an excellent 35 points.

In what was a close contest, countback was used to determine the minor places with second place taken by David Morris with 31 points, edging David Armstrong, who also scored 31, into third, and in fourth place, with 30 points, was Max Pipe.

The winner of Division Two was Robert Stickland with 31 points. Second place was Brian Bird with 30 points, third place was Tom Tunnicliffe with 29 points, winning on count-back from David Pearson.

There were six twos each winning seven golf balls: on the second hole, Sydney Martin, Dave Anderson, Stan Squire and Chris Street, and on the 12th hole, Tom Tunnicliffe and Dave Morgan.
