Honiton’s D Division survival had been secured the week before and there was a distinctive end-of-term feel about their seven wicket defeat at home to Countess Wear.
The Exeter side needed the points to make sure they would play this particular fixture again next summer in the same division.
Pete Matravers top scored with 42 for Honiton and there was a long and laboured knock of 13 from Wayne Broome as Honiton were bowled out for 143.
Countess Wear lost just three wickets in the successful run chase.
Honiton skipper Kev Kelly said: “It was something of a damp squib to end the season which is hardly surprising given how much of a damp squib much of this particular season has been!”
