Honiton Muay Thai ace Jake Purdy recently returned from Malaysia where he was in action with the Great Britain team at the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur championsips (IFMA).

Upon return he said: “It was a real honour to represent GB at the championships. I’d certainly like to thank everyone in Honiton who sponsored me and particularly Gill Day, John Capon from Otter Windows, A1 print and stitch and Devon Freewheelers. I’m looking forward to my S1 title fight and the opportunity of fighting on the King’s birthday in Bangkok in front of a crowd of over 100,000 Muay Thai fans.”

Purdy is now set to travel to Thailand for the next six months to learn and train to enhance his skills.

Muay Thai is available in Honiton and session are held each Monday and Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm at Dojo on St Pauls estate, Honiton.

Sonny Perez Kru of the club says: “It is excellent to see so many people getting fit, losing weight and enjoying training in Muay Thai. Its a really friendly club that welcomes new members of all levels of fitness“.
