The Honiton Sea Angling Club held it’s popular Summer Fayre competition on two charter boats out of Minehead, writes Mike Spiller.
Twelve members took part in the six-hour competition that saw conditions on the day far from ideal for the catch and release event.
Fish caught during the match were; dogfish, thornback ray, small eyed ray, bull huss, turbot, gurnard and smoothounds.
The best specimen of the day fell to Mike Spiller who caught and returned a nice starry smoothound of 11lb 4oz.
The outright winner of the comp was James Trevett who scored some 275 points, James caught and returned during the day; smoothound, gurnard, dogfish and small eyed ray, this was enough to give him the Summer Fayre winners cup.
The runner-up on the day was Mike Spiller who scored 220 points and third spot fell to Barry Trevett with 200 points.
