The Honiton seniors have had an eventful week, writes Andy Wagner.

The seniors open event last Friday was washed out by serious rain before all the field had set off, forcing a re-run on July 4.

On Tuesday, a home match was played against Teignmouth seniors was won by an emphatic score line of 6-0.

On Thursday the Emerton Court team played the return home match against Teignmouth and won through to the next round on aggregate.

In spite of that we were assured of a warm reception at Teignmouth for the return friendly match in August!

The Friday competition was a relaxing Texas Scramble played on a very wet course in high humidity, so every shot and putt had to be worked for.

The top team were Ken Beake, Bob Bilyard and Angus Falconer, beating Mike Watts, Tony Williams and Ron Jones into second spot.

John Discombe, John Chew and Ollie Wilson came third and the last prizes were taken by Brian Morrison, Ashley Murray and Vic Wood. The winners were all within one and a half shots making it a very tight game.
