Honiton teams book final berths in County competitions

16:28 25 February 2014

There were two Honiton teams that contested the Section Final of the Ladies Triples, writes Tony Broughton.

Rosemary Hirons, Ann Hillyear and Pearl Hackwood took on Ann Brown, Julie Grant and Shirley Hiscocks and the outcome was that the latter trio will now play in the County semi-finals to be held in Plymouth next month.

The match was tight up to end seven when the scores were locked at 7-all.

It was on the eighth end that the Hackwood trio bagged a four to put daylight between the teams. That was the pivotal end for the match, for thereafter the eventual winners conceded just one more shot to claim a 22-12 victory.

All at Honiton BC wish the trio the very best of luck on Finals day and hopefully look forward to seeing the trophy on display in Honiton!
