Honiton tennis joins forces with Upottery

PUBLISHED: 17:12 09 April 2014 | UPDATED: 17:12 09 April 2014

Honiton Tennis club members have moved to join the Upottery Tennis Club.

Upottery have two well maintained courts that are open for use by members at any time, and time slots can be booked in advance.

Honiton members took the decision after a hefty price increase by LED for using the courts at Honiton Sports Centre.

Chairman Gary Salter said: “We were restricted at Honiton to only having the courts available for two hours on two nights per week in the summer. The price increase would have meant an increase in subscriptions, so the members looked at alternatives. By joining Upottery we can have greater time on court with the added benefit of increasing numbers and variety of tennis for existing members of Upottery as well. Honiton members are looking forward to joining Upottery Tennis Club and integrating with their existing members.”

Club nights are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm and we hope to co-ordinate drivers from Honiton.

Anyone wishing to join or require further information, please contact Gary Salter 01404 47874 or Ian Jeeves 01404 46729.
