Honiton Terrors Under-10s were in East Devon Youth League action on Sunday when they took on Avishayes Under-11.
For once the weather served up sunshine and not a drop of rain!
Both teams began well. For Terrors Joseph Charlton and Jacob Fisher linked well in midfield whilst Louie Stamp made an impressive first start for the side. Defenders Ewan Evans, Connor and Jordan Harrison showed great composure to keep the opposition at bay. Ben Lapping, James Pring and Zac Harrison saw plenty of ball in the attacking third of the pitch, but it was the visitors who scored first.
The Terrors reply was positive and they went close a number of times whilst, at the other end, goalkeeper Dominic McCreadie made some fine saves to stop Terrors falling further behind.
After the break Terrors continued to press, and again went close, but the legs began to tire and Avishayes scored twice more to seal a 3-0 victory.
Terrors boss Mark Fisher said: “My team has improved so much in the last six months. They are a joy to watch and should be very proud of themselves.”
The individual match honours for Terrors went to Jordan Harrison and Dominic McCreadie.
