The rise up the Division Two table has been impressive since Gary Osbourne’s appointment earlier in the campaign, and they find themselves now a lofty tenth – their highest position of the season – and just six points off a top four berth!

Sam Farmer and Joe Dixon tucked away goals that sent Town into the break two up, and the impressive Jake Netherway rifled in a fine goal to complete the scoring five minutes from time.

Dan Broom was named Man of the Match for his exceptional shift at centre back and others to shine were right back Ben Price and goal scorer Netherway.

Osbourne said: “We deserved to win, because, even on a sticky surface, we stuck to our guns and passed the ball around very well. Things are really going very well for us. There’s a feel-good factor running through the club and a huge plus for me has been the consistent form of the defence who have kept three clean sheets in the last four. It’s also worth pointing out that the last two games have been won without our main striker Tim Genders who has been at his brother’s stag weekend and then wedding. He’s back for our next game and so I have tough decisions to make in terms of selection.”

Town have been left without a game this weekend as Elmore are trying for the fifth time to beat the weather and play their County Senior Cup tie. Town’s next action comes the week after with a trip to second placed Chard Town.
