Once again the weather was the course’s best protection as members played through passing showers and changing winds in the County Golf Challenge, writes Andy Wagner.

None of this deflected Richard Townsend in Division One from his purpose as he ploughed on to a creditable under par nett 68.

Second was Jim Wallis with 71 and in third was Ian Atyeo with 73.

In Division Two Darren England’s nett 69 saw him emerge victorious with Buzz Harris and past captain Dave Morgan close behind on 70.
