The latest Tuesday Mixed at Honiton was threatened by heavy morning rain, writes Andy Wagner.

That rain, coupled with some heavy mist left this month’s organiser’s Jan and John Dickinson preparing to have to cancel the competition.

However, after midday everything changed, the sun appeared, the mist disappeared and a large field enjoyed playing this weeks competition which took the format of American Foursomes.

With three cards scoring 40 points the winners, with 17 shots and 21 points on the back nine were Linda and Colin Campbell.

Second place with 15 shots and 20 points on the back nine, went to Lesley Farley and Stan Squire.

Third, with 14 shots and 18 points on the back nine were Elizabeth Wood and Cyril Dann.

Fourth with 39 points were Ann Trayling and Brian Hoepelman.

Colin, who, with Linda, are overseas members at the club, then gave a vote of thanks to the members who had made them so welcome and how much they enjoy playing in the Tuesday mixed competitions.
