Honiton footballer Liam Osborne is on the start of the route to footballing stardom!
The youngster, who has been coached since he first kicked a ball by his devoted father Gary joined Honiton Town’s youth section as soon as he could and the net result of the early years of coaching at Mountbatten Park is that young Osborne will next season play for the Arsenal Soccer Schools (SW) Under-10 team in the NERF League which is used by many clubs to get quality football on good grounds.
West Bromwich Albion, Reading and Bournemouth are amongst the clubs also involved in the NERF League.
Osborne has progressed to the team that will play in the NERF League having attended a series of trials with 19 other young hopefuls over the past month.
A proud father, Gary Osborne says: “Of course it’s sad that he is leaving Honiton Town, but this is a tremendous opportunity for him. Honiton has been a big part of his football development so far and I’d urge any parent wanting to get their youngster into the game to get along and see what Honiton Town has to offer. It’s given Liam a great grounding in the game.
