Honiton Hornets HC 7, Teign 3 0

Both teams looked equally matched at the start, and took some time to settle into the game. Chances were had and missed at both ends of the field.

Once Honiton found some composure and the passes started to connect. Vanessa Trude was the first to find the backboard to put Honiton 1-0 up. Teign fought back and for a short spell it looked as if they would break and equalise. Katrina Tucker capitalised on several chances to get three in a row, making Honiton more comfortable.

After the break the phases of play improved and Honiton worked well together as a team. This resulted in Dawn Mayo deflecting one in off a lovely one - two with Vanessa Trude, before Trude added two more of her own. The defence worked hard and had an excellent game, not letting any through to the Honiton keeper. The end score was well deserved by Honiton great team effort. Player of the Match was Katrina Tucker, well deserved. There is a break this weekend for half term with the league resuming in two weeks’ time.
