Forty ladies took part in this week’s stableford competition on another blisteringly hot day - we don’t often get to say that do we! - and there were certainly some hot scores with Brenda Hyde on top form with a magnificent total of 40 Stableford points winning first place in Bronze One Division, writes Andy Wagner.

Lesley Farley wasn’t too far behind in second place with 38 points, Chris Luttman third with 36 and Catherine Doherty was fourth with 34.

There were also some great scores recorded in the Silver Division with Mona Carter claiming top spot with 39 points and Tricia Swindell finishing second with 37.

The Bronze Two Division winner was Linda McLaughlin with 34 points, this on countback with Elizabeth Rogers, who also recorded 34 points, edged into second spot on countback.

The nine hole competition winner was Elaine Utting with 15 points. Temperatures may not be dropping this week ladies, but it looks like several handicaps will.
