The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is back – and it’s coming to Honiton. The town is set to host its third Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday, March 25, and needs local people to come together and show their support by entering now at www.sportrelief.com.
As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives – so it’s time to dust off those trainers and enter right now.
Organised again by Honiton Running Club, the Honiton Mile is set to be another exciting event. Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part, but can choose to complete one, three or six miles, knowing that all the money raised will help to change the lives of people living very tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.
Warren Oak, Sport Relief organiser for Honiton Running Club, said: “The Honiton Sport Relief Mile gives you a chance to shine. From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock there’s something for everyone on the big day.
“In 2010, the Honiton Mile had over 400 participants and raised a staggering £7,505. This year we want to make the day even bigger and better – but we need your help to do that. So come on Honiton and East Devon pull up your Sport Relief socks, enter the Mile and do something amazing!”
●Honiton’s own Sport Relief Website (link from www.honitonrc.com ) will keep you up-to-date with the latest news from Sport Relief, the Honiton Mile, and information about which local clubs, schools, businesses and organisations are getting involved.
