In the Wednesday 3BBB Stableford field of just 18 players, first place went to team Linda Northover, Dot Grove and Ann Desmoulins with a substantial score of 68 points. In second place Diana Gee, Anne Davies and Chris Pearce scored a very respectable 66 points.

Seniors Section: The Honiton Seniors' first competition of the New Year was played in sunshine. The Foursomes format was a novelty but most enjoyed the change. The first three places were hotly contested, all three teams scoring 39 points, being split only on count back. They were, in order, Peter Morgan and John Chew, Alan Pollock with Peter Joy and Eric Short with Bob Cleal.

They were followed by Jim Wallis and Harold Clayton on 38 points. The last prize place went to Steve Blundell and Ted Chandler who had 34 points.

AXE CLIFF - The winner of the Hangover Cup for 2012, a bogey/par competition was Alan Morgan (8) with a plus 1, beating Anthony Chadwick (10) also with plus 1 on count back, writes Janet Dack.

The ladies played their Hangover Cup on yet another windy Wednesday a 15 hole Stableford, and the winner was Janet Dack (28).

Wishing all members of Axe Cliff Golf and Country Club a very happy and successful year.
