Beer Albion produced an exceptional second half performance to bring a point back from their long trip to Hatherleigh.
A lack-lustre first half show from the Fishermen saw them go into the break two down. Boss Phil Crabb then let rip and suggested to his miss-firing side that plenty of them could produce a lot better.
The players responded in excellent fashion. Pedro Fontez was hauled down in the area and John Cooper slotted the spot kick to halve the deficit.
A sweeping move ended with Luke Bartlett firing an equaliser and then, with twelve minutes remaining, Chris Long struck a venomous drive from 35-yards to put the Fishermen ahead for the first time.
Back came the hosts and, with five minutes to play, levelled things up at 3-3. Thereafter, both sides went in search of a winner and there were near things at either end.
However, a draw was a fair result as confirmed by Crabb who said: “Before the game I’d have taken a point and certainly at half-time I would have settled for a share of the spoils. Then we stormed back and looked set to take all three points, but I am happy with what we got. For us the mission between now and the end of the season is simple. Look to win home games and bag points away and we’ll be where we want to be come early May.”
On Saturday Town host a Barnstaple Town side that will begin the day sitting sixth, one place better off than the Fishermen with both teams having the same number of points.
