The Lyme Regis August medal produced some exceptional scores, writes Richard Jackman.

Top of the list was Division One winner Andrew Dawe. His front nine was three under gross as he went on a rampant birdie blitz, staying three under gross to record a phenomenal nett 62, the best score of the day.

With what would have been a winning score on most other days, Mark Lewis was level par on the first 12 holes with some brilliant golf, but couldn’t keep up the pace, although he did still finish a convincing second with a nett 65.

Jon Ebdon had some up and down scores, but over the final four holes managed three superb birdies to finish third on 69. Division Two saw an in-form Jeremy Linnert rampage through the front nine and, despite a small blip on the back nine, still emerged top with a nett 65 to take gold. Alasdair Maclean showed calm composure as he finished with a nett eagle on the 18th to take second spot on 67, while Colin Baker’s 3 over gross on the back nine secured him third place on 68.
