Archant

Let me say from the off that I know John Marchant very well, writes Andy Wagner.

He is my Winter League partner and I know his game, his foibles. So for him to get 40 points in a round is somewhat spectacular!

He drives very well, but has a tendency to push an easy wedge (sometimes into the car park!) All I can think is that he’s desperate to get his handicap down so he can move on from a loser like me.

Well done, Johnny Marchant (haven’t played for weeks, honest), 40 points, and a guaranteed handicap reduction after his success in the Sunday stableford.

Past Captain Paul Coates must have been very pleased with 38 points as with Spencer Macklin with 37.

Division Two had a fighting John Fleetwood tipping it against his good friend Fred Thomas 38 to 36 with Dave Wright also recording 36, missing out on countback.

To be honest Johnny is one of the nicest blokes at the club, but 40 points!
