Both her ponies, Rhoda and Showman, qualified for the event at Heazle Riding Centre, in the 60–70cm 10 years and under class.

The competition is run over three days and Megan was fortunate enough to have multiple achievements over the weekend, the first being a second place with Showman in the 70cm team showjumping in which 38 teams took part.

The actual championship class is run over two days and consisted of 71 of the best young riders from all over the country.

Megan and Rhoda managed to get placed first on the first heat which gave her maximum points into the following day.

Because she was in the lead, she had to ride last on the final day when they managed to beat the leading time by three seconds and take the gold medal with maximum points.

Her family are really proud of her and Megan is also very grateful to her trainer Mrs C Maclaclan
