Winning pairings for Axe Cliff included, Mick Tomes/John Mant; Hugh Willis/Neil Moorcraft; Malcolm Glass/Jack Bannister and Dave Morgan/Bob Graham.

For the Charity Bowl on the following day it was back to strong, gusting winds making scoring difficult. Three players returned cards of 32 points and, ocb, the winner was Tony Strong (9), second was Roger Hill (18) and third Nick Povey (21). There were two 2s from Gerry Turner and Iain Bain.

Due to thick fog, gale force winds and heavy rains the last two Wednesday competitions for the ladies have been postponed - hopefully better for next week!

However last Saturday a 4.45am shot gun start found a mixture of members celebrating mid-summer with a Texas Scramble.

The winners were an all male team namely Alex Palmer, Stuart Dickson, Matt Donman and Brett Garner. A hearty full English was appreciated by all competitors.
