The latest outing at Axminster Golf Club was scheduled to be a Medal so the relief amongst the players when we found it had been changed to a Non Qualifier Stableford was palpable, writes Andy Wagner.
Played in frosty conditions with every hole a temporary the scores were still effective and the day was very enjoyable.
A tight Division One was taken by new vice captain Ron Graham, 37 points ahead of Jim Wallis and Julian Netherway, both on 36 points.
Division Two was even tighter with count back dividing Mike Godfrey, Norman Runciman and Dave Lavender in that order, all finishing on 39 points.
The Tuesday mixed event took place on a beautiful sunny day and 38 members made use of the good weather to play in the format of Rye Foursomes. The winners, with 39 points, were Dot Grove and Allan Seager.
In second place with 36 points were past captain Jackie Seager and Terry Linsdell.
Third place went to Cherry and James Liell with 35 points, they claimed this after count back with Bob Barnes and Di Wall placed fourth after they also finished with 35 points.
