It was back to a full week of fixtures and in division one it meant victories for the top three sides, with wins for Uplowman, OPG and Flamingos, writes Graham Ingram.

Flamingos season has been disrupted and they were playing just their fourth game of the season, but they made it four straight wins with a comfortable victory over the Weather Girls. With Sonia Yorke calling the shots they were 13-0 up at quarter time. In the second period Becky Green got the Met Office side up and running and the quarter went goal for goal with Flamingos 20-6 ahead at half way. The last two quarters belonged to Flamingos who ended 46-14 ahead.

Uplowman held on to the top spot thanks to a big win over Tip Top Trees, who after five games are still looking for their first point. With Mandy Norman in great form for Uplowman, Uplowman led from the start and recorded a 64-13 win over 3Ts, for whom Molly Simpson played well.

OPG maintained their second place in the division with a win over Signs South West. Helen Wright was the star for OPG whilst Debbie Wheeler caught the eye for SSW

Division 2

JD Tyres 27, Pixies 28

Sidmouth Toucans 41, Otter Valley Dairy 3

Hi Q 32, Water Babes 6

Game of the evening in division two was the clash between second placed Pixies and third placed JD Tyres. The first three quarters were even but there was drama in the final quarter as Helen Freemantle sparked JD Tyres into life. They clawed their way back into the game, reducing the deficit until with seconds to play they had levelled the score at 27-27! Pixies summoned up a last attack and with the final play of the game scored the winning goal – a 28-27 win secured with the last play of the evening.

Sidmouth Toucans moved level on points with JD Tyres as a result of their comfortable 41-3 win over Otter Valley Dairy. It was a game in which both GDs excelled – Louise Neilson for Toucans and Sarah Arscott for the Dairy. At the top of the table Hi Q made it six wins out of six games with their win over Water Babes. With Jo Channing in fine form they led from the start, 11-1 ahead at quarter time, 17-2 at half way and 22-4 at the end of the third period. Sam Clarke played well at centre for the Babes but could not prevent another Hi Q victory – this time by 32-6,
