The wait is over and the point to point season gets under way on Sunday, November 25 at Black Forest Lodge.
The natural amphitheatre thre provides a great countryside day out for all the family to enjoy the thrills of racing. The first race starts 12 noon.
First up of the five race card is the Open Maiden 2m4f. The Wealerdealer was travelling well until a mistake at the last fence cost him his race at Holnicote in June when ridden by national champion Will Biddick. Volio Vincente looks an interesting challenger, an ex Irish Maiden bought at Doncaster in May.
The Club Members for Novice Riders could see previous course winner Timeshift looking to find his old form, Oakfield Legend acts any and won the Novice Riders’ race at Bonvilston and Llangeivor for Connor Flint.
Molland Gayle will be looking to take the Best Western Tiverton Hotel sponsored Restricted, following up on her impressive win of a 13 runner maiden at Bratton Down late last season, for trainer Robert Channin ridden by son Ian.
The feature race of the day is the Strutt & Parker sponsored Mixed Open. Of the 13 entered Manjam a winner of two races under rules including a May handicap hurdle over 2m6f could give trainer Stuart Penny his first winner from his new yard. Divine Intavention and Findlay’s Find may turn up to battle out the finish.
The final race of the day is the Old Thatch Inn sponsored Open Maiden. Those to note are Gleann Ri and Goodtimesareallgone.
Bookmakers, hog roast and bar together with numerous trade stands are on course. Entrance £20 per car load.
