Pony racing at Flete Park again proved a popular precursor to the Dartmoor point to point and there was an exciting finish to the 138 race which saw a three way battle for the placings in the closing stages.
In the end Tina Smith got Bejowans Bouquet’s head in front and was never headed along the run in despite the best efforts of Harry Cobden on Ninfield Millionaire’s Delight, with Tyler Heard (Bronze Lawrance) also working hard in third. Michael Treneer was first local home in fourth on the consistent Talponciau Perfect Print.
There was also an exciting battle in the 148 race between Vadlawalkover (Hannah Welch) and Dandy Heights (Jake Bament), but it is Hannah’s season and she got the verdict with Petite Pois (Pippa Glanville) running on in third. Barnaby Treneer’s Plym Steps is improving each week and got the better of a protracted battle with Miss Mopsy (Heidi Lewis) to claim fourth. It was a depleted field as She’s So Cool bucked and unseated Chester Williams, and The Dinky Dude jinked and unseated Anna Wotton at the start.
