Ed Mountjoy, 20, of Honiton came second in the Weymouth Beach Race, held on Sunday.
Ed said: ‘It was great to come second. Conditions were perfect, it was dry and sunny, and it felt like a good day to be racing.”
Ed, number 241, raced in the Seniors Unlimited class on his KTM 350F. The race was won by Lee Wren from Southampton.
With almost 200 people booked to ride, it’s the 27th year that Purbeck Motocross Club have worked with the Weymouth and Portland Lions to stage the highly popular beach race.
Despite coinciding with the Weston Beach Race this year, the esplanade at Weymouth was packed with spectators for the occasion.
