November 17 will be a proud day for the Hannay family of Honiton.
Nathan, 28, who is captain of Jersey RFC, will be playing against the NZ Maoris who are touring the UK.
They will play three matches - against Leicester Tigers, Canada and a Select Champions League XV - and it is that side that Nathan will be in.
Nathan, who cut his teeth playing for Honiton RFC, will have plenty of local support.
His dad Stephen, said: “We are very proud of him. There a lot of people really proud of him and a bunch of Honitonions will be going up on a coach to watch him play at Doncaster on November 17.
“He is absolutely over the moon.”
Hannay is enjoying his time in Jersey, and is especially proud to captain the side, even though they are not having the best of seasons. Hannay, who was made skipper this summer,is one of only three locks in the squad, so can expect to make the final cut from 28 to 24 players in early November.
The Maori side, who will again be coached by Jamie Joseph, will arrive in England on November 7, before facing nine-time English champions Leicester at Welford Road on Tuesday, November 13.
The squad will then travel further north to Castle Park where they will take on a RFU Championship select XV on Saturday, November 17, headed up by Bedford Blues coach Mike Rayer.
Finally, the New Zealanders will play Canada at Oxford University Sports Centre on Friday, November 23
