Honiton U9s v Exmouth U9s

The U9s returned to action this week with a double win over Exmouth.

Man of the Match awards went to Joe Evans who cut the defence to ribbons with six tries and Josh Giles who tackled tirelessly all afternoon.

A great team effort by all involved, with further tries from Tim Goody, Charlie Sheppard, River Leisk and James Harris.

Honiton U11s V Exmouth U11s

Honiton made Exmouth work for every point in this extremely heavy muddy match.

The home side Raptors played excellent technical and disciplined rugby, concentrating on getting all the basics right displaying an excellent team spirit.

Exmouth scored one try from an impressive pitch length breakaway run and another from a quick thinking interception.

Honiton responded to all attempts with excellent tackling from every single member of the team, getting very close to scoring several times, in particular having an attempt by Charles Corr held up.

If commitment could be measured in mud, both sides were fully engaged in the game from head to foot.

Man of the Match was given to George Tomkins for extremely relentless determined play.

The Musketeers finally played their first game of 2013 on Sunday morning and continued their 2012 form with a hard-fought win over a determined Exmouth side.

A first half try from Jacob Wright saw Honiton lead at the break.

The second half saw Honiton play some good running rugby under difficult conditions and defend resolutely when needed.

A brace of tries from the ever-impressive Dan Phillips completed Honiton’s scoring, with Exmouth replying with one of their own.

Useful debuts from Leon Ingham and Scott Barnett rounded off Honiton’s day. Man of the Match went to no.8 Luke Bralsford for his tireless work in broken play, with and without the ball.
