Despite missing some strong players through illness and injury, Honiton played well against the hosts in what was a evenly matched contest.

Both sides ran in a number of tries and the stand-out performances for Honiton came from Riley Prettlejohn, Reuben Lloyd and Tom Paige-Turner.

The second match of the morning was against a well-disciplined and impressive Saracens, who proved to be much tougher opposition.

Honiton raised their game and put up a strong resistance. Both teams ran in some nice tries, and tagged well in defence.

Encouraging bursts of play from some of Honiton’s less experienced players: Willoughby Cunningham, Louis Lightfoot and Marcus Libischer, who all dodged through some dogged Saracens defenders while making impressive runs.

At the final whistle Honiton had performed well, but were out-classed by a well-drilled Exeter Saracens side.

Thanks are due to excellent hosts Cullompton for a highly enjoyable morning, and their hospitality both on-field and in the clubhouse.
