Honiton Warriors Under-8s show good things in two unbeaten matches at Sidmouth

PUBLISHED: 16:26 11 March 2014 | UPDATED: 16:26 11 March 2014

Honiton Warriors Under-8s made the short trip over the hill to local rivals Sidmouth on a glorious Sunday morning, and, with a strong squad boasting an array of talent, the Warriors ran in nine tries to three in the first game and shared ten tries in the second, writes Ben Lee.

Tries in the first game were scored by Matthew Thompson (2), Charlie White (2), Tom Burroughs and Zach Gambie with Finlay Lowman coming off of the bench to score twice, and Ethan Forwell also dotting the ball down for a score. Tackles were a plenty from twins Matthew and Luke Ducker with some excellent strong running and distribution from Connor Chester and Josh Woolacott.

Hungry for more both sides elected to play a second game which was a much closer affair with Sidmouth scoring with the last move of the game to force the draw. Tries in this game came from Matthew Ducker (2) Finlay Lowman, Zack Gambie and Josh Woolacott. Josh Matthews brought some great line running to this game and was unlucky to be caught just short of the line by some excellent Sidmouth tagging.
