In the first friendly of the week Seaton travelled to Ottery St Mary to play a mixed four rink game, writes Linda Stone.

It was an enjoyable game, but Seaton were beaten 50 shots to 80. Seaton’s top rink was Ruby Grigg, Keith Miles, Reg Pluck and Terry Hurley-Smith.

There were three ladies over fifties triple league games played this week against Topsham, Crediton Green and Morchard Bishop. The games against Crediton and Topsham were wins on both rinks for Seaton however the game against Morchard Bishop went to the wire, Seaton winning overall by just one shot. After these three wins Seaton are now second in the top division behind Sidmouth.

On Wednesday in a tight and tense match, this week, Seaton Over 60s B team managed to secure eight points, winning 31-26 at home to Tiverton Borough.

Top triple was Richard Whitworth, Bob Scull and Jeremy Allison.

Meanwhile, Seaton A entertained Culm Vale C in the Over-60s Triples League and struggled to overcome the opposition to win by three shots (31-28). However, the six points obtained were enough for Seaton A to clinch the Division Three title with three fixtures remaining.

The top triple was that of Peter Newton, Ron Rowley and Les Tooze who won by 10 shots.

Thursday saw Chard visiting Seaton to play four mixed triples. Seaton won 73 shots to 52. The top triple was Sue Smith, Peter Newton and Hazel Smith who won 21 shots to 9.

The final game of the week, on Friday, was another friendly at Madeira, which Seaton won 72 shots to 61. Top rink for Seaton was Ted Talbot, Brandon Curl (in his first game), Linda Stone and Jeremy Allison who won 21 shots to 13.
