Seaton played three Two County League matches last week, writes Linda Stone.

First up was a trip to Culm Vale away where the home side won by a margin of just four shots.

That was followed by defeat at Hemyock, but a first win of the league campaign was achieved in the next game, a 104-50 victory at Tiverton Borough where the top Seaton rink was the one of Norman Stone. Linda Stone, Jeremy Allison and skip Don Yaxley.

At Heavitree, Seaton played Crediton in the first round of the ladies county InterClub competition and it proved to be a success for Seaton courtesy of an overall two shot win.

The excellent play by the winning rink ensured the victory and so Angie Mayhew, Lilian Hurley Smith, Sue Rutter and skip Joan Miles deserve sincere congratulations!

The club plays Madeira in the next round at Sidmouth on June 11. There was more success with the ladies when they played triples at Axminster where they won by seven shots.

The top triple was the one of Audrey White, Lin Allison and skip Pat Whitworth.

Last Wednesday Seaton A travelled to Budleigh Salterton and, in rather adverse weather conditions, came away with six points, winning overall by 23 shots (43–20). Top triple was David Ford, Alan Wood and Roger Woolland who ran out winners by 28 shots. Seaton over 60’s B team played at Axminster narrowly losing by four shots overall. A two point rink win was secured by Norman Stone, Bob Scull and skip Richard Whitworth.
