Tavistock 2, Seaton 1
Seaton Ladies visited last year’s Premier side Tavistock and were unfortunate not to come away with any points.
Tavistock threw everything at Seaton in the first 20 minutes but the solid defence of Burridge, Perrin Berry, Coleman and the improving goalkeeper Jeans kept them at bay.
Seaton took the lead seven minutes later when a perfect corner from Spiers was smashed home by Gould. The Seaton midfield were now on top with Robson and Campbell their usual hard-working selves. It was still 1-1 when a wonder strike from the Tavvy forward flew into the top corner.
The second half saw Lamprill, Spiers, Arnott and Gould all have decent efforts saved. The sucker punch came with 12 minutes remaining, when a free kick was given away by Seaton and was tapped home from two yards out. Seaton brought on the fresh legs of Foxwell and Womersley to try and get back on level terms but it wasn’t to be. Seaton manager Jamie Bond was disappointed to lose but was delighted with the way they played. Team: Jeans, Burridge, Perrin, Berry, Coleman, Campbell, Robson, Lamprill, Spiers, Arnott, Gould Foxwell, Womersley, Hanham, Westlake.
