Three members of Seaton Tennis Club were celebrating this week after receiving awards at the Devon LTA AGM and Awards’ night at Exeter’s David Lloyd Tennis Centre.
Colyton Grammar student, Emma Hurst, was made Devon Junior Player of the Year 2012 for her achievements competing regionally and nationally during the year, and for her efforts in contributing to the success of tennis in Devon.
Seaton’s up and coming coach, Ben Elliott was also made Devon Coach of the Year 2012 whereby all his hard work and commitment inspiring all age groups and all levels to play tennis was recognised.
Last but not least, Grayson Newton was awarded Devon Volunteer of the Year 2012 for his relentless dedication as membership secretary and for making a huge contribution to the development of the club.
Chairman of the club, Andrew Butcher, who attended the awards evening said: “This is an outstanding achievement for Emma, Ben, and Grayson, especially competing with bigger clubs and indoor tennis centres in the county. We are all very proud of them at the club, and would like to congratulate and thank them for their positive contribution to Seaton Tennis Club, and to tennis in Devon.
