The Honiton seniors stableford was played on a windy day with the threat of rain, but luckily all seventy players got round without getting wet, writes Andy Wagner.
Peter Morgan showed the way in Division 1 with 39 points.
The runner-up was Mike Kent with 38.
Max Pipe, John Dickinson and Mike O’Reilly were the other top scorers. In Division Two Brian Morrison was the only player under par with 37 points.
Bob Cleal, Bill Giles, Fred Thomas and Norrie Fleet all scored 36, separated only on countback.
Ronnie Pew attended the prize-giving to present the winner and runners- up in his knock-out competition with their prizes.
The Ronnie Pew Cup was won in its eight year by club captain David Morgan. We are looking forward to the tenth year, when Ronnie will hit his century.
Seniors captain Bob Underwood presented the Centenary Salver to Andy Sharland for the best aggregate score in the season’s medal events, and Brian Morrison finally received the winner’s jersey for the Seniors Masters Championship - he had earlier been presented with a ball of wool and knitting needles to knit his own, but now he has the real thing.
