Sidmouth Toucans landed a rare event earlier this week, writes Steve Birley.

They secured success in a Honiton Summer Netball League fixture, and there was nothing fortunate about the victory whatsoever!

The Toucans travelled to Honiton to face Tip Top Trees and returned victors thanks to a thrilling 58-54 win.

The contest was played out in hot and humid conditions, but the whole team worked hard from first whistle to last with centre Rachel Darlami having an inspired game.

The Toucans Player of the Match award went to goal attack Helen Terry.

Both side’s were awarded ten fair play points.

Toucans team: Sarah Fletcher GK, Sarah Burston, GD, Vicki Russell/Jo White WD, Rachel Darlami, C, Lucy Davies, WA, Helen Terry GA, Louise Neilson/Danni Walters GS.
