Steele Perkins Trophy triumph for Brian Morrison

08:02 27 August 2014

The Steele Perkins Trophy was contested earlier this month with a small, but select, band of players, writes Andy Wagner.

A significant happening here was distinguished player who sneaked into third place (on count back).

First was Brian Morrison with a steady 35 points followed by Peter Clarke (a proper player with a single figure handicap - please note) who had 34 points.

He in turn pushed non other than our very own club vice captain Stewart Slater into third place, albeit on countback after Slater also served up a score of 34 points.

Brian I can understand. He’s a canny Scot who plays to win always. But Peter, single figures and you didn’t know to step aside for the great and the good! You’re both going to regret this, ha!
