Seventy-three junior rugby players from the U6s-U14s travelled to Exeter Chiefs’ ground at Sandy Park supported by 122 family and friends to take part in their Super Saturday.
The players had a two-hour training sessions with Exeter Chiefs’ coaches and first team players including Luke Arscott, Simon Alcott, John Andress, Myles Dorian, Addison Lockley, Sireli Naqelevuki, James Phillips, Junior Poluleuligaga, Brett Sturgess, Josh Tatupu and Herbie Stupple, Charlie Walker-Blair, Dave Ewers and Lloyd Fairbrother.
They were also given a fantastic behind-the- scenes tour of Sandy Park, including the changing rooms and training facilities by Mark Foster and Chad Slade.
At the start of the main match between Exeter Chiefs and Sale Sharks, the players went on the pitch to form a tunnel for the Sale Sharks and Exeter Chiefs’ players to run through and, at half time, they took part in a lap of honour on the pitch for the whole of Sandy Park to see.
Everyone had a fantastic day out and it was rounded off brilliantly with a win by Exeter Chiefs over Sale Sharks by 37-12!
Coach Welly from the U12s also celebrated his 40th birthday and was presented with an England rugby shirt with this name on by Mark Foster on behalf of the U12s team.
