Taunton racecourse set for new extension to Paddock Stand

13:54 23 January 2014

Taunton racecourse has announced plans to extend the Paddock Stand, next to the main entrance of the course.

The work will be carried out later this year at a cost of £300,000.

The course has received a grant of £50,000 towards the cost from the British Horse Racing Authority.

The finished work, which sees the scheme include a roof terrace which will give uninterrupted panoramic views of the Blackdown Hills and beyond, will provide improved facilities for owners, trainers and members alike.

Chairman of Taunton Racecourse, Mike Foden said: “This extension confirms the confidence that the directors have in Taunton Races and we look forward to it being ready for use at the start of the 2014-15 season on Wednesday, October 20.”
