Honiton Sea Angling Club held their presentation night at the Hare and Hounds where 70-members and their guests enjoyed a wonderful occasion, writes Mike Spiller.
After a splendid carvery the presentations got under way.
Club chairman Dennis Retter welcomed all to the function and reported that the club was now starting into it’s 20th year and another very good year had been seen with plenty of good fish and results being achieved.
Two of the more prominent achievements in the past year had been club coming second in the country with recording specimen fish with the national body the Angling Trust.
The seventy members had recorded well over 100 specimen fish. The winning club turned out to be Paignton SAA from South Devon. The other prominent thing was that two members of the club featured in the England field casting team.
Dennis Retter again captained the two teams and also netting himself a place in the England B team was Barry Trevett who came away from the World Championships in an impressive 12th place.
The best cast to date for Trevett is just short of a lengthy 300 yards!
On the night some 80 awards were handed out.
