Last Monday the Axe Cliff former lady captains held their annual ex captains competition, writes Janet Dack.

The winner was this years’ captain, Sandra Walker with Pauline Willis in second place.

Two days later, in what seemed to be the first real taste of summer weather, the ladies competed for the PING four ball better ball.

The winning pairing were Margaret Kenchington and Barbara Cummings.

Sandra Walker and Helen Gaudie took second place.
