Weather woe for skittles

It is not only outdoor sports which have been disrupted by the severe weather conditions hitting the region, writes SpursTom.

Skittle matches have been postponed due to fear of accidents to players on wet and or slippery alleys, plus the question of safety of teams travelling to games.

One of those affected was Terror Pins home meeting with the Floppers from Ottery St Mary, the decision to cancel was mutual between the representatives from both clubs.

Here are brief details of how the teams from Budleigh Salterton and East Budleigh are performing so far.

In League A the teams of Cock Robins and Robins are in the race for the Premier Championship.

The Stumpers are involved in the mid-table dog fight even though residing in the lower region.

Rolle Rebels have their noses in front in League B, the Silly Billies are just out of the top four with Prize Guys further down the table.

Cricketers are in the group hoping for a slip up by the League C pacesetters from Aylesbeare. Olive’s ‘8’ are about halfway, whilst the Terror Pins and the Otterton Rollers need results to starve off relegation.

League D sees both Steamers and Ticklers within touching distance of the title battlers, but sadly Devonex Rovers, Loungers and Ravens are all in the bottom four not wanting the Wooden Spoon for being last.

In the Ladies League the best position that Budleigh’s three teams of Clangers, Bantams and Henbirds are likely to obtain is that of runners-up.
