Archant

Despite the icy start, there was little breeze to trouble the 32 seniors competing in the Axe Cliff Golf November Stableford last Friday, writes Janet Dack.

Conditions did favour the later starters so it was no surprise that the winner and runner-up came from the back of the field.

Both netted 38 points and the victor, on count back, was Dave Weston (21) with Keith Wilson (12) having to settle for second place.

One point behind on 37 was Roger Hill (18) to claim third place.

There were three two’s from winner Dave Weston, Mike Jamieson and Rob Heard.

After their AGM the new Axe Cliff lady captain Sandra Walker organized a stableford competition.

The sunshine was glorious albeit a little chilly!

First place went to Glenda Board.

In second place was Alison Cook and in third place Leslie Crawford
