12:02 27 February 2014

Racing fans have until midnight on March 1, to register for complimentary tickets to Wincanton’s Free Racing courtesy of Bathwick Tyres on Thursday, March 6, writes Hannah Walker.

Entering its third year of this ‘free admission’ initiative, pre-registration is essential with a maximum of four tickets per household on 0844 579 3014 or wincantonracecourseco.uk (non registered racegoers will be charged full fare admission on the day).

To top the free raceday experience, after each race presentation Wincanton racegoers will have the chance to win £50 Bathwick Tyres vouchers that will be randomly drawn by on-course presenter Luke Harvey throughout the day.

For added insight into the world of horse racing, a complimentary behind the scenes tour is available ahead of racing, alongside betting advice and the latest Paddock Panel tips plus trips to the start.

Steve Parlett, Wincanton Racecourse’s General Manager, says: “I’m delighted that once again with the support of long-term sponsors Bathwick Tyres that we are able to provide an unlimited audience the chance to enjoy passionate jump racing for free.”

Gates open at 11:30am on March 6, with the first race off at 2:30pm.

Raceogers can enhance their experience with an exclusive Paddy Power Festival Preview Luncheon that takes place at 11:30am ahead of racing in the Kingwell Restaurant.

On the panel are the West Country’s top trainer Paul Nicholls with Wincanton ambassador Joe Tizzard – stable jockey to Colin Tizzard. A trio of dedicated racing presenters – Alice Plunkett, Richard Hoiles and Luke Harvey – will provide their thoughts on the Festival runners.

Luncheon cost £49.50 for a three-course set menu, racecard, table for the day and the most informative Festival preview in Somerset.
