Bowls presentation

The Annual Dinner & Presentation was held at the Golf Club last Saturday, followed by a disco, writes Paul Moffitt. Both captain, John Beadsley, and president, Reg Winterbourne, are bowing out this year to make way for new blood.

Winterbourne has been the club president for the last seven years, and he paid tribute to all those members that had helped him along the way. Beasley also thanked members for their support in what has been a very tough year, mainly down to the high cancellation rate due to the bad weather.

The trophies were presented by Marnie Beadsley, to whom he presented a bouquet in recognition of her support and patience over the past two years.

The highlight was probably the presentation of the ‘clubman’ award which is presented by the captain to the person whom he considers to have given an outstanding contribution to the club. This year it was presented to Sue Wood who, with the help of her loyal band of helpers, has been a revelation as catering officer in what has been a demanding year.
