A night of mystery, magic, mayhem, mockery and murder is coming up in Budleigh Salterton.

Murder On The Menu is at 7pm on Saturday, October 24, at the Public Hall.

Presented by the Budleigh Buddies, the whodunnit is set in the fictional town of Bubbly Salterton. Rumours are circulating of a new Italian restaurant to be sited in the town. Feelings – both pro and con – are running high and the whole palaver will come to a violent (and possibly bloody) end.

The production is a theatrical first for writer and director Steve Hagger.

“I’m thrilled to be putting on such a thriller,” he says. “I hope the audience will remain mystified for as long as possible, although I think one or two of the wannabee detectives might get there before the end of the evening.

“Anyone who has ever won – or lost – at Cluedo might have a slight edge.

“I’ve been very fortunate to work with such a talented cast and we all look forward to giving everyone an evening to remember.”

Proceeds from the evening will go to Bicton College’s Mill Water School, which educates and cares for pupils with learning difficulties, complex needs and autism from East Devon. Tickets – including two-course dinner – are £15, from Budleigh TIC or any cast member.
