The Budleigh Salterton Committee for Cancer Research UK is holding an Evening In India on Saturday, November 28, at 7pm in the Public Hall.
On arrival, guests will be provided with a complimentary drink and a buffet consisting of a choice of three curries, one being vegetarian (cooked by Commando Training Centre RM Catering Department), which will be served by two Royal Marines. This will be followed by a dessert and coffee.
Throughout the evening, there will be authentic background music and backdrop of beautiful pictures showing various views and events in India. These will be shown on a projector provided by Budleigh Salterton Film Society.
This year, we are extremely lucky that beautiful cabaret artist Natasha Koshti - who has travelled from Plymouth with her three to four young dancing companions - will give the evening authentic Bollywood dancing, followed with a lesson for our audience (www.bollywooddancing.co.uk).
Natasha is not only a talented and professional dancer, but has recently graduated with a masters in advanced psychology (honours). She has conducted Indian culture and Bollywood workshops at various schools and also performed with her group at various charity events. She recently took part in a prestigious beauty pageant in Plymouth to raise money for Derriford Hospital’s Children’s Cancer Service. She has also been interviewed and shown dancing and teaching on BBC Spotlight.
There will be a bar a series of exciting raffle prizes. Why not make up a table of eight to 10 friends and be part of an ‘experience in India’?
We are hoping to once again raise in the region of £2,500, thanks to the support of our guests and generous sponsors who have made this event possible.
Parking for an Evening In India is available behind the hall and adjacent to it. Tickets are £19 per person (cheques to be made payable to CRUK) and are available from Bath Travel, High Street, Budleigh Salterton 01395 442619.
