Classic car owners from across East Devon are expected to descend on the Imperial Recreation Ground in Exmouth for the annual Classic Vehicle Gathering taking place on Sunday, August 19.

The Classic Vehicle Gathering is being staged by the Devon Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club and offers visitors the chance to view an interesting array of cars and motorcycles covering more than sixty years of motoring. These range from popular sports cars like the Triumph Spitfire to family saloons such as the Ford Anglia and Volkswagen Beetle. Last year saw over 150 cars on show, including supporting displays from local clubs such as the Exeter Air-Cooled Club, Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club and the Mazda MX-5 Owners Club South West region.

This one-day gathering does not require entrants to book in beforehand or pay an entry fee, just turn up on the day. There is also no age-related cut-off date which means that owners of more recent cars and motorcycles of interest, whether standard or modified, are also able to come along and display their Pride and Joy.

Lorna Moggridge, spokesperson for the Devon Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club said: “The informal atmosphere of this vehicle gathering is well liked by both exhibitors and visitors whereby they can turn up when they want to and also take in the additional sights of Exmouth.”

The annual Classic Vehicle Gathering runs from 10am until 4pm and is open to all individual entries and clubs.

Members from the Morris Minor Owners Club will also have collecting buckets for accepting any donations for their nominated charity, the Devon Air Ambulance.
