Malthouse exhibitions offer some diversity in Lyme Regis

A visually striking and playful exhibition has opened at Lyme Regis’s Malthouse Gallery and runs until Wednesday, April 26.

Three Lyme-based artists - John Marriage, Moya Paul and Dave Wicken - who use photography as part of their practice, have come together once again in a show called Triple Vision.

On display will be digitally generated images, pictures derived and abstracted from photographs, and combinations of photography, drawing and painting.

John Marriage is a photographer interested in experimentation and abstraction who’s inspired by shapes and colours.

A painter for many years, Moya Paul only took up digital photography when she retired.

Dave Wicken’s work falls into four categories: pen and ink drawings, photography, images that combine drawing with photography and photomontages.

Running at the same time is Walk of Art, a showcase of paintings by Sue Lewin and Kathy Scott and bronze resin sculptures by Toni West.

In this exhibition, the artists celebrate their shared fascination with coastal walks and countryside paths.

Sue Lewin’s atmospheric paintings are inspired by the dramatic and fleeting light and mood of the sea and sky.

Having been a keen painter of sea and landscapes, Toni West has enjoyed a recent move to creating bronze canine sculptures.

Kathy Scott’s latest oil and mixed media paintings concentrate on trees.

Both Triple Vision and Walk of Art are open daily from 10.30am-4.30pm.
